Holiday Sock Drive for the Homeless

SKS will have a sock drive for the homeless all of next week, December 12 – 16.  Working with Jox of Sox, we are hoping for many donations of NEW socks, and the 7th graders will be outside at morning drop off to collect them.  It’s our way to help spread Christmas cheer to those who need it most. Craft Club Extravaganza – Friday, December 9th
After school until 6pm 

The annual Craft Club Extravaganza is the event of the season! All k-4th graders are invited for Christmas bingo, crafting, Christmas karaoke, and a photo booth! Irish Dance Registration Open for k-8th Grades

All students from grades k-8 are invited to join the SKS Irish Dance program. This has been a tradition at SKS and our dancers perform in the St. Patrick’s Day parade in Philadelphia. The program runs from January to March and the program flyer and registration link is here.

Santa’s Secret Shop – looking for parent volunteers!
December 12th, 13th & 14th 

SKS Santa Shop is BACK! SKS students will have a chance to get all of their Christmas shopping done for family and friends at Santa’s Secret Shop!  Prices range from $3-$12 per item and students will get envelopes to help them plan their list.

To make this a success for our children we need MANY parent volunteers!   Please review the Santa Shop SignUp Genius (see teacher names for when specific classes will be shopping) and sign up based on your availability.  And remember, you do not have to sign up just for when your child(ren) are shopping 😉   Thank you in advance for your time!   As a reminder: **ALL volunteers at Santa Shop must have their clearances completed and on file with the Rectory.  CLICK HERE for the list.  If you have any questions about clearances or want to check the status of your clearances, please contact Kim O’Neill at koneill@sksparish.org.

SKS Christmas Fund for Faculty and Staff

We hope you are all getting ready for a festive holiday season, there will be many events coming up hosted by Home and School to help us all share in the peace and joy of Christmas!

Please see the attached letter and this link for our annual Christmas fund. This time of year we like to acknowledge our teachers and staff with a THANK YOU for all their hard work and efforts. As you all know, we truly have the best Teachers and Staff here at SKS. A copy of this letter and a return envelope will be coming home with the oldest child in the family this week. Snapology Classes at SKS!

We are starting our newest after school activity – Snapology classes at SKS for grades 5-8! In Combat Robots students will build a base robot, then get new engineering challenges each week that they must design a solution to meet, competing against their classmates to see who can make the best design to win head-to-head competition.  This is an engineering focused class without coding. SKS Math Olympiad Club

Join us for a Math Olympiad (MOEMS) program at SKS for 4th, 5th and 6th graders.  MOEMS (moems.org) is a worldwide math competition program, with over 120,000 students from every state and 39 countries participating.  The objectives of MOEMS are to teach multiple strategies for out-of-the-box problem solving, develop mathematical flexibility in solving those problems, and foster mathematical creativity and ingenuity through challenging competitions.

Mothers’ Christmas Tea

Friday, December 2 at 9AM from 9-10am in the Parish Center

SKS Registration for 2023-2024 Opened November 1!

The SKS registration for 2023-2024 opened November 1, 2022. All existing students have already been auto-enrolled for next year, your registration fee for existing students for 2023-2024 is now due and payable as of November 1, 2022. Payment is available online at SKS Registration Payment Form

We currently have full classes for grades k-3 for next year and have started waitlists for those grades.

For new incoming siblings, you should have received an email from me last week with any further documents or fees that need to be submitted for their application. Please check the Application Process  page for the documents due for new students, including birth cerificate, baptismal certificate, and the Teacher Recommendation form. Please note: the Teacher Recommendation form should be completed by your child’s current teacher no earlier than January 15, 2023 and due by February 15, 2023. Any forms received before January 15th will require a follow up by the preschool.  All documents should be sent to me at acondello@sksschool.org.

SKS Children’s Choir

SKS Children’s Choir is open to all parish children in grades 1 – 7. We would love to have any child interested in participating at some of the 9:30 am masses sign up at the Children’s Choir Registration Form.
