Congratulations to Mary Finley and Danny Mendler, SKS Class of 2018, who were selected to represent their schools at the Archdiocese of Philadelphia’s 42nd Annual Academic Honors Convocation, which was held at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul on May 19, 2022. During this ceremony, students, all of whom are ranked in the top 3% of their senior class, were honored for their academic achievement and dedication to their studies. As eighth graders, Mary and Danny were the first recipients of the Logan Schweiter Scholarship, an award that is given to worthy SKS students, who emulate Logan’s spirit and personality. Next fall, Mary, a soon-to-be Archbishop Carroll graduate, plans to attend Ave Maria University in Naples, Florida, where she will continue her tennis career. Danny, a soon-to-be Malvern Prep graduate, is heading to South Bend, Indiana, to attend the University of Notre Dame. Keep reaching for new heights!

THE CLASS OF 2022 EARNS ALMOST $140,000 IN ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS

Congratulations to the Class of 2022’s Scholarship Recipients! All your hard work, sacrifices, studying, planning and perseverance paid off. We are proud of you!

MAY PROCESSION

A highlight of every school year is the annual May Procession, which was held on Tuesday evening, May 17. The May Procession is a time-honored tradition at SKS in which students honor the Blessed Mother with a special crowning ceremony. This year’s procession began in the grotto, where the Class of 2022, together with the sacrament grades, gathered to sing hymns of praise, pray the Hail Mary, and place flowers at the Blessed Mother statue. After laying flowers, the entire student body processed to the church for the crowning ceremony. The Class of 2022 led the ceremony, which culminated in the crowning of the Blessed Mother by eighth grade May Queen, Molly MacVeigh, accompanied by third grade First Communicants Olivia Thompson and Olivia Davis. It was a beautiful evening honoring our Blessed Mother!
