Admissions

St. Katharine of Siena School is operated under the auspices of the Catholic Bishop of Philadelphia, a corporation sole, in the Philadelphia Archdiocese. All schools in the Archdiocese admit students of any race, color, sex, national and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs, and activities generally accorded or made available to students in these schools. St. Katharine of Siena School will not discriminate on the basis of sex, race, color, national or ethnic origin in the administration of educational policies, loan programs, athletic, or other school-administered programs.

Admission Policy – Grades 1 to 8 – the order of priority

  • Children of families currently enrolled in St. Katharine of Siena School

  • Children of parishioners in St. Katharine of Siena Parish

  • Children of non-parishioners where a Catholic School is unavailable

  • Non-Parishioners/Non-Catholics

Admission Policy of Kindergarten

  • Children of school families in St. Katharine of Siena School

  • Children of parishioners in St. Katharine of Siena Parish

  • Children of non-parishioners where a Catholic School is unavailable

  • Non-parishioners/non-Catholics

Final admissions decisions take into account all of the policies outlined above, however other factors outside of this policy may affect student prioritization and selections are at the sole discretion of the principal and pastor of St. Katharine of Siena School.

School Age Requirement

Children entering kindergarten must be five years of age on or before September 30 of the year for which admission is sought. Children entering first grade must have successfully completed kindergarten, and be six years of age on or before September 30 of the year for which admission is requested.

Before acceptance, the following documents are required:

  • Birth certificate as evidence of age

  • Certificate of Baptism if the child was not baptized at St. Katharine of Siena

  • Grades 1 – 8: Sacramental dates and copies of certificates for:
    First Reconciliation, First Eucharist, Confirmation

  • SKS Teacher Recommendation Form submitted to applicant’s current school.
    Grades K-1 recommendation form 
    Grades 2 – 8 recommendation form

  • Original evaluation report and IEP if tested for learning challenge, including the findings, diagnosis and accommodations.

  • Complete the Records Request form for all transcript information and standardized testing from applicant’s current school
    to be forwarded to SKS  for students applying for admission to grades 1 through 8

  • Registration fee paid by check or online by credit card
    New students only, current re-enrolled students billed through FACTS.

  • Current health and immunization record, the forms are found on our Health Office page.
